PLAN PERFORMANCE ANALYTICS
Plan Performance Analytics (PPA) is a cloud-based platform that helps Blue Cross Blue Shield Plans benchmark performance and identify healthcare cost drivers. It enables users to uncover improvement opportunities through powerful data analytics and intuitive BI tools.
National Consumer Cost Transparency
The National Consumer Cost Transparency (NCCT) initiative powers the BCBS Axis® Provider Insights platform, delivering healthcare cost estimates for approximately 110 million members. By aggregating standardized data from Blue Cross Blue Shield Plans nationwide, the platform enables members to better understand treatment costs and make more informed healthcare decisions.
Enterprise AI Platform Rollout
This initiative introduced and operationalized OpenAI Enterprise across Blue Health Intelligence, enabling teams to securely leverage generative AI within enterprise analytics workflows. The project established governance, integration patterns, and internal use cases that connected OpenAI capabilities with existing data platforms and analytics tools.
Semantic Layer
The Enterprise Healthcare Analytics Semantic Layer was designed to simplify access to complex healthcare datasets by creating a standardized analytics foundation across the organization’s data ecosystem. By translating raw claims, cost, and utilization data into business-friendly models, the platform enabled analysts, data scientists, and product teams to rapidly generate insights and build scalable analytics solutions.
